As a Spiritmeister, Rheyn is capable of contracting with and summoning spirits, numerous sealing spells using rune magic and has a true form which is that of a solid spirit. He is at his strongest when in this form and cannot be killed or wounded easily. Due to what he is, Rheyn is able to return from death providing that part of his soul remains in the world. Currently two pieces of his soul are in Zion, the first lies within his undead brother Cain, the other in the engagement ring of his beloved.
Weapon: Soulblade - His sword which is imbued with his rune magic to keep sealed all the spirits he has contracted with.
Personality: Rheyn is very loyal to Helia, however, he does have a different way of seeing things. He will not kill unless it is absolutely necessary and doesn't see all Areans as filth or abominations like most Caelians do. Despite his kind heartedness he makes a fearsome General and is a brilliant strategist.
History:
Rheyn was born before the birth of the Earthran Goddess. He lived with his elven Mother and had grown up to believe that his human Father had been his father by blood. His childhood however, was short lived. After his brother was bitten by a Blood Lycan his world was turned upside down. His brother Cain attacked the family, killing both their parents and attempting to kill their younger sister Ophelia. In defense of her, Rheyn struck his brother down and killed him. Wrought with guilt he pleaded with the realm of the spirits and ultimately became a host for his brothers' twisted spirit.
Sealed within the sun with only his younger sister left, Rheyn did all he could to get stronger and create a stable home for Ophelia. (He didn't realise he hosted his brothers' spirit as Cain remained dormant all the while.) Even so, his sister became quiet and withdrawn, a contrast to the once bonny girl of their youth. Rheyn didn't know how to treat her, nor did he know what he could do to make her happy again, so instead he trained and fought, soon rising to the highest ranks, closest to the Goddess that he revered.
After their time sealed within the sun came to an end, Cain came to the fore. Now that he was not surrounded by such holiness and light he gained free reign over Rheyn's body every full moon. Sometimes more frequently. Ophelia noticed the change in her brother and grew frightened of him. Rheyn, who remained oblivious to his brothers presence thought that it was himself whom Ohpelia feared and when the girl ran away it broke his heart. It was only the fateful meeting with a young 'boy' abandoned by his Mother and on the brink of death which kept Rheyn from abandoning his duties and become prey to despair. He soon realised that the young boy Aegle, was in fact a girl who carried the magic of her twin brother who had died in the womb. When she tapped into that magic she would change into a male form to fit it. He created a special choker for her which kept her in the form of a male as she wished, and then raised her as his own. Soon she had become his equal, fighting for the good of Caelius as the defense General and he had never been prouder.

Much has changed for Rheyn the past 6 years.
He finally broke the bond of guilt which tied his brother to him and now the two live independently from each other, except when Cain dies as he then returns briefly to Rheyn's body before 'respawning' from his ashes like a phoenix. He also met a special person who had a great impact on his life and heart. He shares a home with him, hidden away between the cliffs of Silent Isle, where they meet as often as possible. Despite this, Rheyn continues to remain loyal to his legion and keeps his personal life separate from work. He plans to keep his promise to get through the war together with his beloved so that they can finally live together freely.
Abilities
Rune Magic
Rune magic is not something that came naturally to Rheyn, he studied from a young age with his elven Mother to memorise runes for basic spells. At first it seemed hopeless, he could not so much as summon water, however, after finding that he could tap into the spirits of others he found his affinity within the area of sealing and contracts using runes. Spirits were often drawn to him and he would create binding contracts with them so that they would fight alongside him. His sealing spells are strong, however, he cannot cause significant damage using rune spells.
Spirit Magic
Being half archangel, Rheyn gained the power of the Angels. He is able to create an alternate space within the spirit world which can sometimes act as both a prison or tortue chamber for unholy beings, but is ultimately a place of healing for himself if he should take too much damage. His true rage-form is also that of a glowing spirit. It is solid though and he can be seen, his strength doubles when he is in this form, and unholy beings will find it extremely painful to touch him. (This form resembles the Silver Surfer) He also has a tranquil version of this form which comes to the fore when he is healing.
He often uses his spirit magic when battling Ares, since it makes his exorcism circles more powerful.
Contracted Spirits
Rheyn travelled the world in order to find the sprite spirit elementals, something his Mother told him about when he was a young boy. They are said to be seven tiny sprites who have each got the power of an element. He decided when he found the first by chance that he would contract with all seven. He has only found six so far though.
Pan
Spirit Type: Sprite
Element: Earth
Height: 1ft
Abilities: Pan can fly and specialises in healing and camouflage. He also is fairly good at manipulating earth and rocks, giving him the ability to create small avalanches or shelter.
Sal (Salamander)
Spirit Type: Sprite
Element: Fire
Height: 1ft
Abilities: Sal can fly and specialises in he creation of all types of heat including flame and lava. He is rather hot headed and can often set fire to things he doesn't mean to.
Sylph
Spirit Type: Sprite
Element: Air
Height: 1ft
Abilities: Sylph can fly and specialises in wind magic. She can cause objects to float and always keeps a clear head, adhering to her Masters' wishes with precision.
Ore
Spirit Type: Sprite
Element: Water
Height: 1ft
Abilities: Ore cannot fly, but can create a water bubble around himself which floats and gives the impression he is flying. It is quite unusual for a sprite to be unable to fly, but he is faster than any fish in water which makes up for it.
Zhan
Spirit Type: Sprite
Element: Lightening/Thunder
Height: 2ft
Abilities: Zhan is the largest and one of the most powerful sprites in existence. He often works together with Ore in attacks as he is in fact very lazy. He flies atop a small thunder cloud, he can fly without it, but is too lazy to do so.
Du'an
Spirit Type: Sprite
Element: Ice
Height: 1ft
Abilities: Du'an can fly and specialises in ice magic. He can freeze anyone or anything instantly, but becomes significantly weaker when Sal is present in a battle alongside him.
Still in search of: Akasha - the sprite said to be most powerful and have the ability of illusions and creation.

Helia: His God and the one he is most loyal to. Her word is law.
Aegle: She has always been like a younger sister. He holds her in high regard as such, but frowns upon her choice in men. He often babysits his Godson Cael (Aegle's son).
Cael: His Godson. Rheyn often tells him of the Caelian battles he has fought in and would easily lay down his life to protect the boy as if he were his own.
Sandro: His beloved. He will die before betraying him. They have a promise to keep though: Survive and see the end of the war, together.
Raigar: An old friend of Rheyn's who is now Gardener and secret guard to both Aegle and Cael at the request of him.
Luce: The second Arean General whom he has yet to battle with.
